The new conference series initialized by the ICU 2007 Vienna is a unique opportunity to establish web based "ICUltrasonics" proceedings in a sustainable and timely form, which are electronically accessible for search and retrieve.

A peer-review process will be established for "ICUltrasonics", as a main issue in creating such web-based proceedings is a state-of-the-art review process. The high competence level of the members of the ICU board should grant that what will be published in "ICUltrasonics" is first class scientific literature by any standards.

The "ICUltrasonics" proceedings shall comprise modern style web pages with search engine (e.g. scholar.google.com) and PDF delivery, much like the on-line versions of journals (there are many examples on-line). We intend to connect the papers to a doi (Document Object Identifier, see www.doi.org) to get a generally accepted citation format for every paper and to obtain an inclusion in the ISI list of publications with assigned impact factors.

The "ICUltrasonics" proceedings will be an open access publication.

In addition, all authors are free to offer their paper, or a revised or extended version, to Elsevier's Journal ULTRASONICS, to ACUSTICA united with acta acustica, or to IEEE Trans. UFFC, etc.
