Hostel booking and Payment
Limited availability - rooms are reserved on a "first come, first served" basis.
In order to apply for a low cost application in a hostel, please follow the steps outlined below:

Before asking for a low cost accommodation, please
register on-line
to obtain your registration number, which has to be
indicated together with your name on all form sheets.

Download the
Hostel Booking Fax Form Sheet
(.pdf file), print it, fill out the details, sign it
and send it to fax number: +43 1 58801 13498.
- Wait with the payment of the accommodation until notification. You will be notified about your reservation by e-mail as soon as possible. Payment instructions will be included in this e-mail. Please note that only bank transfer is available for hostel booking.
Instructions for Payment: the payment of the accommodation should be done by Bank Transfer only.

Please do not forget to indicate the registration number, the name of the participant, the name of the hostel and the period of stay.
Please make sure that the bank charges are fully covered by you as the sender.
If your transfer has been reduced through bank charges you will have to pay the difference to the appropriate congress fee at the registration desk.
Please note: The accommodation does not contain any VAT and is not subject to VAT. (However, in case bureaucracy insists on knowing it... VAT number: ATU37675002)

The house is located in the immediate vicinity of the Danube River, and the Danube walkway. The Danube Island, a famous recreation area, can be comfortably reached by foot.
Location:
If you are coming from "Westbahnhof", you can reach the hostel by way of the U6 (brown line), "Handelskai" Station, and then transfer to either bus 5A or 11A for one stop, to the "Friedrich-Engels-Platz" Station.
If you should arrive in Vienna at "Südbahnhof", we recommend the Schnellbahn S 1, S 2 or S 3 to the "Handelskai" Station, and then on with the bus lines 5A or 11A to "Friedrich-Engels-Platz".
Arriving from the airport Wien Schwechat it is possible to take the airport train ("CAT") or the airport bus, both with destination "Landstrasse, Wien Mitte". Then you take the U4 (green line) to "Heiligenstadt" and take the bus lines 5A or 11A to "Friedrich-Engels-Platz".
From the down town area you can reach us by way of Streetcar number 33, 31 and N, which also stop at the "Friedrich-Engels-Platz" Station (as well as the night bus N29).

Please note that there is no parking possibility for privately owned vehicles in the near vicinity of the hostel !
Room Rates:
The room rate for a single person is € 20.00, breakfast included.
Room Layout:
The rooms contain between 2-6 beds (1-3 bunk beds), some with, and others without private showers and toilets. All rooms contain running water, with a basin. The overnight charge contains the price of the bed sheets and breakfast, but no towels.
Gastronomy:
In our self serve restaurant we offer, three course, fresh cooked, meals daily which cost € 5.50. We also welcome our vegetarian guests to try our cuisine.
In case you are not in the Youth Hostel at the set meal times (12:00-13:00 lunch, 18:00-19:00 dinner), we will be more than willing to prepare cold platters, or take-out lunch packets for our guests. These special conditions must be agreed upon at least 24 hours in advance with the management.
Free-time and entertainment:
A large garden, entertainment room with TV, Billiard, and Football tables. We also have seminar rooms available for groups staying with us.
